Well it's about time I make my debut on the forum.

First I have to say I'm hugely excited about the potential of this place, it's going to be the place to be for all your banter regarding health & fitness, training, bodybuilding, mma it's all frickin here!!!

Right here will be where I discuss training principles I'm using, supplement trials, aswell as letting everyone have a little insight into the daily goings on of a Gladiator/Wrestler/Nutrition store owner/Anabolic Designs athlete on a daily/weekly basis!

It starts tonight after the almighty leg session!

    Let the banter begin!

Nice to see you on the forum mate, I can't wait to see what your diet and supplement program is like

Great to have someone of such calibre on the forum. As per the above, it will be good to see your diet and supplementation program! Where can I buy your Warrior shorts?

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps!

Today I'm going to give a rundown of my leg workout from last night aswell as my current supplement regime.

Now as much as I am an avid bodybuilding fan my training has to coincide with Professional wrestling also. This is reflected in my training in a sense that not all exercises are necessarily orthodox, however at present for me personally the gains are coming along nicely with 2012 being the year of nice slow maintainable gains!

I'll first give a run down of my current "Off Season" supplement regime, Naturally most off the products are Anabolic Designs but let's face it, whatever I wish to call myself bodybuilder/wrestler/actor what ever it may be, like everyone else on here, I'm a fan of this sport being TRAINING. Supplementation seem to go hand in hand with it and as a result, with the market being loaded with products making me feel like a kid in a candy store and constantly searching for that "magic" pre workout, postworkout etc, I'll trial products on a pretty regular basis.

The fact I run my own nutrition store, I refuse to comment on products that I can't vouch for from a personel perspective so most recently I've been jumping on a lot of pre-workouts!

    SOOOoooo here goes:

    Anabolic Designs- Ravenous
    Anabolic Designs- Shreddabull
    Anabolic Designs- Bullk
BSN- Amino X (Aminotaur is currently not available )
    BSN- Lean dessert
    BSN- No Xplode 2.0
    BSN- Cell Mass
    Gaspari- myofusion
    Gaspari- Anavite
    MHP- Up your Mass
    Ronnie Coleman- myo blitz
    Ronnie Coleman- resurrect p.m

With the exception of one or two products namely the Lean dessert and Myofusion (I try my best to get my protein from food but use those as either a lazy alternative or sweet treat) the remaining products are pretty much a staple in my off season plan. I'm really not a huge fan of geranium based pre-workouts, again just a personal choice so I'm quite happy jumping between 2.0 for it's vasodilation properties and green apple and watermelon taste bloody awesome and the new RC signature series, admittedly the "DO NOT" take more than one scoop has to be ignored as I tried that and ended up downloading the Michael Buble christmas album NO BULL! It made me incredibly happy and festive, so perhaps upon waking on xmas day I may have a scoop but before a workout! It has to be 1 1/2-2. I'm rocking around 120kg at the moment but 2 scoops gave me huge mental focus, pretty reasonable pumps and overall pretty good workouts!

I was having amino's pre and post workout but due to my post workout shake having a healthy dose of BCAA's I'm opting for Amino X just pre at present. I do feel amino's are hugely under rated. I think more than likely due to lack of education and public promotion of the benefits but let's face it, Protein shakes were once in the same scenario and now everyone and their dog have used a protein shake at some stage in their life. Once aminotaur is released steadily but slowly I know we at AD will really be promoting the benefit of Amino's, kind of the reason I alligned myself with AD, it's about letting the products speak for themselves!

    NOW ONTO THE LEG SESSION

Now I'll generally train mid afternoon, after around 3 meals, again I have to fit in work commitments so yesterday the training had to wait until the evening.
I was feeling pretty lethargic and my previous Back workout with AD Ceo Joe binley (to be disclosed soon) but a few pre workout scoops later and it was time to go to work.

The workout started with Leg Extensions:

    1 warm up set
    3 working sets- 8-12 reps upto 200kg

I always opt for atleast one heavy compound exercise for each bodybpart so today was what I like to call "Dead squats", a little more brief and cool sounding than "Sit at the bottom of the movement for 2 second squats".

    4 working sets- 5-10 reps upto 220kg

Next was the good old leg press, this was done using typical bodybuilding form and reps, however for the last 2 sets I included 10-15 partials at the end of each set to really fill the legs with as much blood as possible.

    5 sets- 10-12 reps upto 450kg

Hamstrings were next on the agenda using both the lying leg curl and seated leg curl.

    Superset x 3- 10-12 reps

I always like to really maintain the squeeze at the end of the movement especially for hamstrings and alternate foot angle to really hit different areas of the hamstrings. Have to admit I'm not a big fan of hamstring work but the additional work on them as of late have really helped me get back into doing squats as I had a 5 month break from back squats due to a knee injury sustained from wrestling.

To be quite honest by the time I was done I was walking like a penguin, the legs were full of oxygenated blood and stretching after hurt like a bitch but in this game its pleasure pain!!! All in all we're looking at an hour tops, but i like to get it, get done, go home!

I keep it pretty simple, bog standard but it fulfills my needs, I'm still stuck in the old school ways of bodybuilding in one sense but knowledge is power and through association with different trainers the catalogue of exercises is building!

Quite similarly to Deadlifts which my "no deadlift" period was broke by JB after a 6 month break, again working our way up to 5 & 1/2 plate deadlifts bloody RAW at the weekend. That workout will be posted soon!!

I'm loving the diverse training that's going on at the moment, training with Joe Binley occasionally, who has a completely different style to me is bringing on advancements at a fantastic rate. No joint injuries or inflamation is on my menu for 2012 aswell as some nice muscle tissue!!

It's just been made public on the AD facebook page that next year we will be holding Anabolic designs training seminars at my new gym "Gladiator Muscle" opening next year so no doubt I'll be posting on here the progress of new training priciples but soon enough you'll all be able to try them for yourself!

Until the next post guys, time to eat

Awww wow, a real Gladiator training routine...and STILL being put through your paces by that mythological Joe Binley dude. Joe is everywhere. He coaches everyone secretly lol. I bet he's round at Arnie's house on a weekend picking names out of a very large bodybuilding protein powder tub (instead of a hat) and going - righto Arnie, it's xxxx turn this week for a BEASTING!!

How are you finding cardio Dan, as when I met you last you were all primed for you competition and at about minus 10% bodyfat below human levels...does it affect your wrestling, or is the old grappling your mainstay of cardio workout?

The Ronnie Coleman signature range is going to be an interesting line to pick up. I like the packaging. Should be a real winner, and I know Marc at CSN is doing really well with it, well done Marc!

...5 1/2 plates a side on the old deadlift...you monster, what do you get upto after you've warmed up then ~
