Default Physical Edge FURY Log and Product Breakdown - Nick

OK first off I decided to create a new thread as opposed to adding this to the already growing log section for FURY but you can find other logs HERE for the product along with the views of the others chosen to test and log the product.

    First Thoughts:

I haven’t been using any pre workouts for the past few months after coming from formulating a PWO for a UK based brand so being given the chance to test FURY couldn’t have come at a better time, the hype behind the product was the same as most other Pre Workouts recently released boasting great focus and intensity.

Looking at the label the product backs up these claims with a real who’s who of active ingredients and best of all for me in capsule form, it’s no secret that pre workouts can taste horrific and utilize artificial/natural flavourings to mask these tastes but usually fall short so capsules just alleviate that horrible taste first thing In the morning.

    Breaking Down the Contents:

As I said looking at the label we have a real who’s who of active ingredients for those familiar with sports supplements the vast majority are USA based brands and utilise proprietary blends to hide the contents from rivals, over the past year more and more companies are coming clean with the contents and fury is one of these giving you the exact dosage and contents of each serving.
Some of these ingredients will be familiar to a few people but for the vast majority the ingredients profile will mean absolutely nothing. But the key Players in FURY are broken down below; the reason for this breakdown is to give a more in depth look at FURY and to back up my own personal opinions of the product.
If you are not interested in a long read skip down a few posts to my final thoughts on the product.

    Caffeine Anhydrous :
The bare bones stimulant of the world you’ll be hard pushed to find a pre workout not utilising this as its key stimulant each serving of FURY contains 250mg which is the equivalent to 2-3 cups of coffee from a filter machine 3-4 espressos.

**For those of you who are stimulant resistant or drink multiple cups of coffee a day will not benefit from this and I doubt you will feel the effect at all which is not a bad thing if you dislike stimulants which often result in a shaky feeling and a horrible post workout crash.**

Geranamine: Also known as 1,3-dimethylamylamine is an extract of the geranium stem and is fast becoming utilised in a vast range of supplements and become more widely known after USP labs jack3d announced its presence in there pre workout which really dominated the pre workout market last year.
It’s the Geranamine that provides the mental clarity and focus you see in most pre workouts of today and FURY is no different, it couples perfectly as a stimulant with Caffeine.

FURY contains 20mg of Geranamine which will hit the spot for most stimulant sensitive individuals or those with no experience of this specific stimulant.
**Its worth noting that 1,3-dimethylanmine is on the WADA banned list (world anti-doping) so athletes following testing of this agency should not use this supplement**

    Citruline Malate:
Citrulline Malate is a special combination of L-Citrulline, a naturally occurring amino acid, and Malate. Research shows an increase in aerobic energy production, enhanced fatigue resistance, improved energy levels during workouts the list goes on.

750mg per serving I’ll go into more detail on why I find this to be wasted space in this particular supplement.

Arginine Ethyl Ester: Arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide production and vasodilation which is its sole focus in this supplement, Arginine Ethyl ester is a faster absorbed and more readily utilised form of the amino acid L-Arginine.

    Creatine Magna Powder:
Confusing for people not aware this is Creatine bonded with magnesium for faster absorption into the body.
650mg of Creatine per serving again I won’t go into this now but will touch on the Creatine usage of FURY below.

Taurine: Allot of controversy surrounds the connection between taurine and caffeine’s increase in mental focus and its effects on endurance when utilised by athletes. However Taurine is also a slight vasodilator which helps to add to the vasodilation properties of FURY.

BCAA: Branch Chain Amino Acids, nothing more to say on this except it’s a waste more details below.

    N-methylTyramine:
Tyramine is thought to increase norepinephrine and dopamine activity which in turn can enhance fat loss and help to build muscle.

I’ve left out G-B-B EE and Astrogin purely because these are two compounds I’m not 100% familiar with Astrogin is patent pending and GBB is a potent vasodilator beyond that it’s not critically vital to the products performance as much as FURY boasts containing Astrogin until we have research published showing its effects I’ve treated it as not even being present.

    My Experiences with FURY:
Ok So all the boring Breakdown aside I’ve tested fury on 4 separate occasions and altered dosage and carb content in order to test varying aspects of the product, this might spurt some people to get defensive or to argue over trivial points but my PERSONAL opinion on FURY is not good, I don’t feel that this supplement lives up to its hype.

    Workout One:

The first time I trained on FURY I had only slept for 3 hours prior to my workout, however I used 5 caps of fury and drank a cup of black coffee alone with my morning protein shake and 40g of maltodextrin which acts as a simple carb in the system.
Back training session was good the muscle pump from the product was substantially better than normal however I lacked real focus or energy the Geranamine dosage just didn’t tickle the sides at all no increase in mental clarity, no increase in muscle endurance or energy levels.
That being said I didn’t crash at all and I did manage to finish a hard back workout and maintained alert for the rest of the day despite a lack of sleep.
    Energy – 0/5
    Muscle Pump – 5/5
    Mental Clarity/Focus – 2/5

No stimulant feeling which is a big ++ and no crash post workout also a huge ++

    Workout Two:

This workout I wanted to test the pump properties of the product and trained chest with no pre workout carbs simulating training in a fasted state as I do when on intermittent fasting. Unfortunately the product didn't manage to have the vasodilation properties I had hoped and muscle pump was almost non-existent.
Once again I felt no boost in clarity or energy levels definitely nothing to say I had taken the supplement it just did not have any impact on me at all.

    Workout Three:

Back To my normal pre workout shake and again using 5 caps back workout again, this time my head was not in my training at all I felt lacking in the gym I couldn't focus and just didn't want to be there, this is no fault of the product at all and but whereas other pre workouts have given a huge stim effect that kicked in and just made me push FURY lacked the stim kick that others had which although a + normally due to the horrible sick feeling I get on them it would of really helped on this workout.

    Workout Four:

This workout was yesterday and my leg workout I used 10 caps of FURY effectively doubling the dose and I thought that this would have done something for me.
I felt a little more focused and managed to rep out 200kg on a lying leg press despite having terrible pain in my knees, I felt a little more focused and muscle pump was definitely increased but beyond this I was still disappointed in the lack of real present and active effects given by FURY.

    What I’d Change with FURY:

The active ingredients in fury try to do too much it tries to act as a BCAA supplement, an intra-workout, a pre workout a nitric oxide and a recovery supplement all in one but falls short in all aspects and really needs to find direction and focus on one aspect.

BCAA’s dosed at 400mg per serving is simply wasted drop them completely because people will utilise separate BCAA’s if they desire them for training and recovery and can be dosed more accurately.

Creatine magna powder is an interesting one this will have a more present effect for people already dosing creatine regularly regardless of what type of creatine for me using the supplement sporadically as it SHOULD be used not on a day to day basis the creatine is wasted in reality.

Geranamine is a defining part of this supplement and if you use 1,3 in a supplement you NEED to keep that supplement simple to allow increases and decreases in dosing to get the benefits for resistant users.

If I was Physical edge I would go back to the drawing board and strip FURY to its basics and not try to accomplish too much with one supplement.

Have to agree with some of your points Nick about some ingredients within the FURY are at a dose that is negligable and isn't really needed in there. Could remove these and further enhance the other ingredients in the profile.

I am liking the FURY and it does seem to be delivery what i need.

Like i mentioned this will hit the spot for allot of people but for me a product where you cant dose the real pre workout actives due to the quantity of useless crap makes it a poor choice for anybody who is resistant to stims or after a specific effect.

i might try 15/20 caps purely out of curiosity there's nothing in these that would result in any issues and i might even get a tingle from it but in all honesty FURY is over hyped in my opinion and wasted on anybody who wants a serious pre workout supplement.

Fantastic, well written and in depth. I loved reading this, and it's an honest straight to the point review on FURY by Physical Edge, broken down for everyone to clearly understand what is with this pre workout supplement. Interestingly and fair play to Physical Edge they have not put a proprietary blend together so you can actually see for sure what you are getting dose for dose instead of leaving you guessing.

Thank you @SASUK ... only thing is, I assume you cut and pasted your review from a .doc or something. There is a little bit character corruption making it a wee tad hard to read in places.
