December proved a more challenging month than I initially anticipated. This may be in part due to my eternal optimism. You see, December witnessed the birth of my first child (and Son) and me being the naive type thought this would impact in now way on my training. The plan to train daily soon went out of the window and my Sons insistence on crying constantly same me become catabolic fairly quickly! Thankfully, I had the ideal supplement (or stack of supplements to give credit). In the entire month I trained only twice and ate lots of bad food. I fully expected to have lost alot of strength and gained quite a bit of body fat upon my return to the gym. Much to my surprise however I have actually lost 3/4 of an inch from my waist and have increase my overall bodyweight by half a stone.
So why did this happen? I have taken 4 weeks off the gym, ate terribly, have been stressed and catabolic... and yet I look better than when I started. I am sure you guys will be able to come up with many theories on this outcome but here are my thoughts:
The time away from the gym gave my body time to rest allowing initial growth. It is likely that I was over training prior to having the month off so the time away could have been just what the doctor ordered.
I was also stacking Bio Prime with Anabolic Designs Taurotest/Bullk, a stack which should see a reduction in catabolic responses (thanks to the HMB) and an increase in testosterone.
It is my belief that the BioPrime greatly assisted the time away and blunted the catabolic response you would expect from such circumstances.
