HICA is the most recent amino acid to be surrounded with new research relating to augmented muscle development. Hica, or DL-alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid to quote its offical name is a metabolite of the amino acid L-Leucine. It is also commonly referred to as L-Leucic acid. Luecine is the amino acid responsible for recovery and is typically located in the muscles and tendons. DL-alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid is present when Leucine is burned within the muscle cells. HICA then signals the need to increase the muscles anticatabolic processes.
DL-alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid in this respect works in a similar with to HMB, or Hydroxy-Methyl Butyrate.
Recent studies conduscted by Finnish universites have concluded some very interesting results as you can see in the diagrams below.

Test Subjects using HICA also reported that their muscles were less sore following exercise.

This compound is fairly new to our industry and as of yet there is little consumer feedback to publish. We would however love to hear your thoughts below on HICAand DL-alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid.
